Gloria Roy Pfister

Gloria Roy Pfister passed away on July 27, 2024 at 94 years of age. She was born on October 12, 1929 in Mansura, LA, moving to New Orleans in 1942, and she was a resident of New Orleans and Metairie for her entire adult life. Gloria graduated from McDonogh 35 High School and worked in clerical positions. Her favorite role was at Hubig’s Pies, which she worked for 8 years until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Odile and Jules Roy; former spouse, Rolland Pfister; sister, Genella Zahn; and brother, Robert J. Roy, Sr.

Gloria is survived by her son, Brian Pfister; brother, Julius Roy (Diane); and grandchildren, Liz Pfister Bernard (Tony Dupre) and Ted K. Pfister (Ashley).

The family would like to give special thanks to Covenant Nursing Home in New Orleans for their extraordinary care to one of their special residents, affectionately nick-named “Glo.” Their caring staff truly embodied the phrase “Best care anywhere.”

Relatives and friends are invited to the services on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. There will be a brief visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by the committal service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
