

Gloria Miller Touchy passed away on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018, at the age of 91, of natural causes. She was married to Dr. Armant Charles Touchy for 66 years prior to his death in 2015. She was one of two children of Quentin and Ruby Miller of Enterprise, Alabama. Mrs. Touchy is survived by five children, Michael (Kathy), Susan, Armant II (Liz), John and Dr. James (Jenna). Mrs. Touchy is also survived by three grandchildren, Kelly Armagnac (Beau), Dr. Michael II (Ashley) and Armant III. Mrs. Touchy graduated from LSU and was in her fourth year of medical school at LSU when she married and became a full-time homemaker. She attended Metairie Munholland United Methodist Church and in her earlier years was very active in their ministries. During her life, Mrs. Touchy was also very active in various charitable organizations such as St. Michael’s Special School and with parents’ groups in the metropolitan area at St. Francis Xavier Grammar School, Christian Brothers School, and De La Salle High School. Along with her husband, Mrs. Touchy was a long time member of Metairie Country Club. Up until the early 1990’s, Mrs. Touchy and her husband regularly tended to their 100 acre farm in Carriere, Mississippi, breeding Shorthorn cattle. Mrs. Touchy was also an avid gardener which is still reflected at her residence in old Metairie. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the Notre Dame Hospice staff for their care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, May 7th, 2018, between 11AM and 1PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home with a service conducted afterwards at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
