Gordon Ellis Carroll Jr.

Gordon Ellis Carroll, Jr., 73, passed away on June 26, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol H. Carroll; parents, Gordon and Margaret Carroll; sister, Nancy C. Stanton. He is survived by his children, Robert G. Laurent, Jr. (Kristi), Michael J. Laurent (Aimee), Caroline Laurent Huber (Keith), Ashley Carroll Broussard (Zach) and Peggy Weems Read (Stephen); grandchildren Jack and Adelaide Laurent; Owen, Ellen, Ryan and Maren Laurent; Andy Huber; Margaret and Elizabeth Broussard; David and Abby Read; brother John E. Carroll (Ellen), sister Mary Carroll Haynes. Gordon is also survived by a host of loving family and friends. Gordon loved the beach, St. Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras and the occasional drink at the Milan Lounge. Most of all he loved his wife and children. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please enjoy a piece of chocolate, a Miller High Life and a glass of red wine.
