Grace Addison Brito, a beloved daughter, sister and friend, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Frisco, Texas. She was born on November 25, 2009, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and in her 16 years, Gracie filled the lives around her with extraordinary love, light and compassion.
Gracie was deeply loved by her family and brought constant joy, laughter and warmth into their home. Gracie had a kind and generous soul, full of love and empathy and even at such a young age she showed selflessness beyond her years consistently putting others before herself.
Gracie attended Wakeland High School as an AP Student and cheered as an All Star athlete at Express Cheer in Frisco. Cheer was one of her greatest passions. She approached the sport with discipline, dedication and joy. She was a devoted teammate, a hard worker and a true leader by example. The bond she shared with her teammates, coaches and her cheer family was one of trust, love and support. These special relationships created memories and traditions that will live on forever.
To her friends, Gracie was a confidant, a source of encouragement, and often a second sister. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, included and loved. Friends describe her as uplifting, outgoing, and full of light, someone who showed up in their hardest moments and made life brighter simply by being herself. Many have shared that they are better people because of Gracie and the love she gave so freely.
Gracie’s faith was reflected in ways she lived her life. Her deep compassion and generosity were most evident in her decision to be an organ donor, and her parents were honored to carry out her wishes. An act of profound selflessness that continues her legacy by giving others the gift of life. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Gracie is with God watching over all those she loved.
Gracie is survived by her devoted parents, Oscar Jose Brito and Tracy Michel-Brito, her beloved sister, Emma Kate Brito, maternal grandparents, Sheryl Blain Michel and August Charles Michel, Sr., paternal grandmother, Argentina Fermin Brito, Aunts, Marilyn Brito Hidalgo, and Joeli Brito Meyers and uncles, August Charles Michel, Jr. and Peter Brito.
