

Born in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Carlos Reyes Sanchez and Genoveva Lopez Moreno. Due to his active lifestyle, Pops enjoyed woodworking and gardening. His passion for remaining active led him to return to a position at Our Lady of the Lake even after retirement. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Pops loved spending time with his family and enjoyed attending festivals. A devout Catholic, he was involved in the manna giver program for Society of St. Vincent de Paul since 2010 and a was member of St. George Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Reyes Sanchez and Genoveva Lopez Moreno; his sisters, Victoria Reyes Lopez and Alvina Reyes Lopez; his brother, Antonio Reyes Lopez; and his father-in-law, Dale George Catalano I.
Pops is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Denise Catalano Reyes; his daughter, Nora Reyes (Ray); his sons, Denis-Michael Catalano (Kassie) and Christopher Lopez Reyes; his sisters, Francisca Reyes Lopez and Esperanza Reyes Lopez; his grandchildren, Sophia Katherine Catalano, Cynthia Lopez, Raymond Lopez (Jennifer), Veronica Lopez (Miguel), Crystal Lopez, and Michael Lopez; his five great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Dianne Casebonne Catalano; sisters and brothers-in-law; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to those nurses who went above and beyond and his Our Lady of the Lake coworkers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM until the Funeral Mass at 3:00 PM. Interment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum on the same grounds.
