

Harold attended Fortier High School and went on to serve as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the City of New Orleans. He also worked with GPS Drayage Corporation. Throughout his life, Harold carried himself with a strong sense of duty and pride in his work and service.
In 1965, Harold married the love of his life, Myrl (Stevens) Stutson, and together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed square dancing and traveling with family and friends, creating lasting memories along the way. Harold and Myrl especially loved relaxing at their beautiful home in Venetian Isles, where they spent treasured time boating and fishing together—an enduring source of joy and pride for Harold, alongside his beloved wife.
Harold’s energetic spirit was reflected in his personal passions. He had a deep interest in bodybuilding and was a semi-professional baseball player, pursuits that spoke to his discipline, drive, and love of staying active.
Harold was preceded in death by his spouse, Myrl (Stevens) Stutson; his father, Harold James Stutson; his mother, Adelaide Stutson; his stepdaughter, Cynthia Marie Aleman; his stepson, Steven Douglas Aleman; his sisters, Dorothy Rose Munster, Audrey “May” Marshall, and Adelaide “Sissy” Trahan; and his brother, Joseph H. Stutson.
Harold is survived by his stepdaughter, Sharron (Paul) May; his brother, William (Elizabeth) Stutson; his sister-in-law, Birdie Compton Stutson; his grandson, Avery May; and many cherished nieces, and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to Harold’s dedicated caregivers—Becky, Deanna, Evelenia, Veronica, Judy, Jill, and Keiyana—for their unwavering love, support, and care. Their devotion made it possible for Harold to remain comfortably at home, and the family is grateful for each of them. Sincere gratitude is also extended to the devoted Stutson family for their unending love and steadfast support during Harold’s final journey, and to PA Anne Favret from Tulane Connected Care and the Medical Team for their dedicated care.
Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
