Haydée Reynaud, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 14th, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 18, 1932, in Ocotepeque, Honduras. At the age of two, she immigrated with her family to El Salvador, where she was raised and educated, attending La Asunción Catholic School.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, Haydée moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she met the love of her life, Salvador Reynaud. They were married for 53 years until his passing. Together, they raised three children: Elena Margarita, Haydée Patricia, and Alfredo Emilio.
While Haydée worked as a corporate bookkeeper later in life, her true calling was her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life was defined by her unwavering love for her family, whom she nurtured with care, wisdom, and by the grace of God.
She and Salvador became proud naturalized citizens of the United States, deeply grateful for the blessings they found in their adopted country.
Haydée found her greatest joy in time spent with her family and her faith. In her younger years, she loved traveling the world with her beloved Salvador and her sisters, creating cherished memories that lasted a lifetime. She was known by all who met her—family, friends, and even strangers—as a woman who radiated joy. Her warm smile and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Reynaud; her mother, Elena Erazo; her father, Alfredo Erazo; and her sisters, Miriam Rivera (Raúl) and Vilma Maida (Roberto).
Haydée is survived by her daughters, Elena Hingle (Norwood III) and Patricia Hallberg (Guy); her son, Alfredo Reynaud (Michelle); her grandchildren, Alex Reynaud, Norwood Hingle IV (Tiffany), Christopher Reynaud, Emily Kimball (Micah), Nathan Hingle, Miles Hallberg, and Haydée Leigh DuPont (Preston); her great-grandchildren, Riley Reynaud, Beckham Reynaud, Felicity Hingle, April Lena Hingle, Nash DuPont, Kaysen Reynaud, and future baby Kimball; and her God child Ana Maria Dewenter (Louis).
The family extends their gratitude to the Roman Catholic Church for Haydée’s education in El Salvador and that of her children in New Orleans, to Lighthouse for Christ Church where she enjoyed Pastor Norwood’s weekly sermons, and above all, to God for His love and the countless blessings throughout her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 20, 2026, in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am prior to the service. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park.
Flowers may be sent for the service, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lighthouse for Christ Church, New Orleans.
