

Helen (Mickee) Kolarik Wagner, age 94, of Metairie, Louisiana. She was born in Duluth, Minnesota on October 10, 1919 to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kolarik and passed away on June 16, 2014. She was educated in Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. This coincided with the beginning of WWII so she worked as a Chemist in a stealplant producing needed war supplies. Like her family she was very patriotic and with her two brothers joined the Navy to aid in the war effort. After officer training school she became a decoder. She met her husband, Joe Wagner, when they were both stationed in San Francisco, California. After the war they lived in the Bay Area until he retired. They relocated to Louisiana to be with their daughter and her family. She loved music and played the organ and piano by ear. She thoroughly enjoyed people and was very active in volunteer work, especially the American Field Service. She developed many friendships with people around the world. She is survived by her brother, John Kolorik, two children: Charles Joseph Wagner; Dr. Nancy Wagner Boos; two
grandchildren Matthew Wagner and Heather Boos.
