

Helen Wolfe Wirth, was born on July 22, 1942, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on April 13, 2026. She was the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, Charles R. Wirth, Jr. for 65 years. She was born in Bay St. Louis and moved to New Orleans in 1954.
Helen graduated from Ursuline Academy honor class of 1960 and was the president of her senior class. Helen forged friendships from Ursuline that she maintained throughout her life. Of her many endeavors, Helen served with pride as Secretary of the Mother’s Club, a docent of the Old Ursuline Convent, and Past President of the Alumni Association.
A devoutly faithful Catholic during her life and was dedicated to Mother Mary. Helen’s faith was not something she simply practiced, it infused how she lived and loved. Her unwavering faith provided her with an inner strength and positivity that carried her through her life.
Helen traveled all over the United States and abroad. Her most treasured destination was Medjugorje, where she visited 19 times staying with the visionary Ivan, attending daily apparitions of Mary. She was also a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
Helen enjoyed celebrating October Fest at the Deutches Haus with her family and friends where she was a lifetime member. She was always dressed in her German attire with a smile on her face.
Helen owned Passages Antiques on Magazine Street for ten years with her friend, Jennifer. They enjoyed buying trips to France and were very successful.
Helen is preceded in death by her dear father, Marion Joseph Wolfe, Sr., MD, and loving mother, Lillian Vetter Wolfe; brothers, Marion Joseph Wolfe, Jr., O.D. and Bernard James Wolfe; and niece, Angel Wolfe.
She is survived by her dedicated husband, Charles R. Wirth, Jr., as well as her children, Charlene Wirth Faucheaux (Tommy) and Charles Roy Wirth, III (Chalena A.).
She was the proud grandmother of Dr. Thomas J. Faucheaux, IV (Sydney), Dr. Lillian F. Burger (Matthew), Charles R. Wirth, IV (Breanna), William B. Wirth, and Evelyn Claire Wirth. A loving great-grandmother to Reese E. Faucheaux, Thomas J. Faucheaux, V, Isabella F. Burger, Willow M. Wirth, and Alder M. Wirth.
Helen is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly and always kept in her prayers.
Helen’s family was the joy of her life. She will be remembered affectionately as a loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
The family would like to thank Dr. St. John and Dr. Bagert for taking such good care of Helen.
On Monday, April 20, 2026, friends and family are invited to attend visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM, 11:45 rosary, and noon Funeral Mass at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2701 State Street New Orleans, LA 70118. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery.
