Helen Duvic Wright

Helen Duvic Wright peacefully passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, February 5, 2015, a day after her 92nd birthday. Devoted wife of 46 years to the late James E. Wright, Jr. Loving mother of Deborah W. Diaz and James E. Wright, III. Mother-in-law of Dr. James H. Diaz. Daughter of the late Paul and Rose Pedeaux Duvic. Sister of the late Rose Duvic Videau. Grandmother of James H. Diaz, Jr., Laura D. Scheffler (Fred), and Margaret D. Katz (Jonathan). Great-grandmother of Mathile, Fritz, and Stella Scheffler, Vivi Diaz, and Cortlan and James Katz. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Helen lived a long and full life, enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time with her many friends, playing and teaching bridge and gardening. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the Staff of the Second Floor of St. Anna’s at Lambeth House for the loving and expert care that they provided our mother during her final days. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 3:00pm. Visitation will be from 1:30pm until 3:00pm. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
