Hermine St. Philip Verderame

Hermine St. Philip Verderame passed away at her home in Kenner on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 91. She was born on December 23, 1932 in New Orleans. After graduating high school, she briefly worked as a bookkeeper before starting her family and becoming a homemaker. She was a member of Società Italiana Di Mutua Beneficenza Cefalutana and a proud New Orleans Saints season ticket holder. As a woman of faith, she was devoted to her parish of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and Jazzercise classes.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Pascal C. Verderame, Jr.; father, James A. St. Philip; mother, Ella Morgan St. Philip; daughters, Margaret Verderame Jumonville and Frances Verderame; sister, Evelyn St. Philip O’Regan; and brother, James F. St. Philip.

Hermine was survived by her daughters, Rosemarie Verderame and Diane Verderame; sons, Charles Verderame and Joseph Verderame; and grandchildren, Ryne Jumonville, Travis Jumonville and Wyatt Jumonville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue in Metairie, on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 12:30 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. After the Mass, Hermine will be laid to rest in St. Louis Cemetery #3.
