Howard “Butch” J. Bonck, Jr., age 78, passed away on January 29, 2017. He was a proud resident of the Who Dat nation and a dedicated LSU Tiger football fan. Everyone he met was his friend, and he loved any excuse for a party. His greatest love, though, was shared with his adoring and dedicated wife, Linda. They were married for more than 53 years, raised their 3 kids, Patrick, Erin and Mark, and are most proud of their 8 grandchildren Gabrielle, Nathan, Ella, Marta, Grady, Ethan, Gavin & Gillian. Butch graduated from St. Stanislaus and proudly served in the U.S Marine Corps. He belonged to the St. Charles Borromeo Men’s Club, the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree and the American Legion Post 0195. It’s been said, “a man is known by the company he keeps.” Butch enjoyed friendships from his life long friendships with Roy Paul, Mitchel & Theresa Leger and Judy & Joe Roberts to his newer compadres at Anytime Fitness and his incredibly fun-loving and supportive neighbors. A celebration of Butch’s life will take place this Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road Destrehan, LA 70047. Visitation starts at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 11:30 AM. The interment will take place at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred or donations in Howard’s memory can be made to Catholic Charities, ccano.org/ways-to-give
