Irene A. Short

Irene A. Farrell Short passed away on November 25, 2020. She was born in New Orleans on January 19, 1932 to the late Alice Horridge Farrell and William S. Farrell. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William A. Short, Jr., John F. Short, Arthur C. Short, and Joseph T. Short, and her sister, Miriam Short Horn. Irene is survived by her two sisters, Adelaide Short and Alice Short Boudreaux (Eddie deceased) and her brother Roy E. Short (Joan). She is also survived by over 50 nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Redemptorist Girls High School and earned a BS degree in Medical Technology from Loyola University. Irene spent all of her career in the medical profession helping others. Not only helping those needing medical assistance, but just about everyone she knew was calling on her for some kind of assistance fixing this and that. She retired from Mourner Clinic.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 11 am with a visitation beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow the Mass and take place in Metairie Cemetery. Due to the current restrictions in place, face coverings are required to attend the services. Masks will not be provided.
