Irene C. Thibodeaux

Irene C. Thibodeaux, sadly left us on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born January 5, 1932 to the late John and Lillian Culotta. She was a longtime resident of Orleans Parish and a current resident of Slidell, Louisiana. Irene was the Executive Assistant at Tulane Orthopedics for 20 years in charge of all the Residents’ rotations, often know as the ‘mom of the orthopedic students’. Her service at Tulane was honored by establishing the ‘Irene C. Thibodeaux’ scholarship. She enjoyed making countless memories with her family and she will truly be missed by all.

Sister of the late Louise C. Giammanchere. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Joseph E. Thibodeaux. Loving mother of Paula Puglise (late Richard) and the late Bart Thibodeaux (Kathy). Proud grandmother of Lori Natividad (Charlie), Keri Bridges, Courtney Woolley (Bobby), Ashley Herbert, Kasie Sheridan (Jason), and Alexie Thibodeaux (Jake). She is also survived by her 10 great grandchildren, Bailee Bridges, Kaylie Davis, Abby Natividad, Cody Natividad, Caleb Natividad, Ethan Bridges, Elizabeth Herbert, Brynlee Bridges, Addison Herbert, and Kenzie Kenny and nephew, John Leo Giammanchere (Rosezan).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, in New Orleans, on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00am.
