Isabel Brandt Levey

Isabel Brandt Levey, a loving wife and mother, died Thursday, March 19, 2021 in Memphis, TN, where she and her husband Julian Levey had lived for the past 15 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters Rhonda Ginsburg (Alex) and Renee’ Glazer (Steven), granddaughter Samantha Padawer (Kevin) and great-granddaughter Zoe Padawer; Sister Paula Pulitzer (Simon), her nephew Randy Pulitzer (Laura)--Jessica Shulman (Jason), Samuel, Miles (Zoe), and Mina Pulitzer; & her nephew Gary Pulitzer (Joy)--Max, and Jake Pulitzer.

Mrs. Levey was born on June 8, 1932 in Jennings, LA, and moved to New Orleans when she was 15 years old with her parents, Mina & Samuel Brandt. In her younger days, she was the executive secretary for the president of Loews State Theatre. When she would step in as needed to collect tickets at the front window, she always managed for her beau, Julian, to get in the movies free. Later in life, she was the partner with her sister in Vivian Woodard, a women’s makeup store, and then an owner/manager of Maternity and Baby Lane retail. She was a sports fanatic, especially of her beloved Saints, as apparent by her auto and home décor, as well as her wardrobe ensemble.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM in Anshe Sfard Cemetery, 4400 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans. Kindly omit flowers.
