Cindy and I have always admired Chopper and his beautification efforts along
Codifer, plus his magnificent love for Marilyn and his boys. The continuing positive history of Doerr Furniture is a beacon lit by Chopper and stoked by his family members. He will always be in our memories-- especially when we pass 612 Codifer.

I will always remember how kind and caring Chopper was even to a friend of his Grandson who was just one of the many people at their family celebrations. These events seemed more like block parties since there were so many friends and family who attended the events. The large number of people illustrated how great this Patriarch of the family was and how that passed on to his descendants who had the same attributes which made them great friends. It is impressive that he made such an impact on me since I only interacted with him a few times.

I didn’t, know the Sr. but I do know the Jr. Chopper must have been a beautiful man to have influenced his son(s) in such a beautiful way. I know Julian to be a man blessed with generosity, social conscious, and kindness. I send prayers for the family.

My prayers for the family. Will always be remembered as the "Chopper" to me. Was a wonderful influence in all of our lives growing up in the neighborhood. Will never forget the Indy 500 trip and many of the Talladega runs. Truly a wonderful man, RIP Chopper.
