Jacqueline Engle Kosche

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Louise Engle; her daughter, Lisa Marie Kosche; and her brother, Harold Engle.

Jacqueline is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Donald Fred Kosche; her son, Brian Kosche; and her two sisters, Sandra Yaeger and Janice Umberger.

Jacqueline was born in New Orleans on May 17, 1937. She graduated from Redemptorist High School, class of 1955, where she was salutatorian (second in class). She continued her education at U.N.O., where she received her bachelor’s degree. She was a librarian for 18 years in Jefferson Parish, and she attended the People Program for many years. Jacqueline was an avid reader and enjoyed playing card games and table tennis.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Compassus Hospice, Ochsner Hospital, and to Ms. Latara Smith, for the care and compassion they gave to Mrs. Kosche and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 12:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
