Jaime Parellada, age 84, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Rosalia Parellada; his sons, Jaime Parellada, Jr. and Alejo Parellada (Peter); his brother, Jorge Parellada (Nilda); his seven nieces and nephews, Luis, Alberto, Jorge, Yamilet, Carina, Diamela and Maria Teresa; and his brother-in-law, Andres Hernandez. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alejo and Maria del Pilar Parellada; and his sister, Nuria Guevara. Jaime was employed by Schwegmann’s Supermarket for over 30 years, serving as a store manager for much of that time. For the last few years of his life, he was active in his son’s business, Hyme Tyme on Metairie Rd. He was a dedicated husband, father, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal St. in New Orleans on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, masses or services preferred.
