
James Clinton Cruanes passed away peacefully at his home on November 2, 2021 at the age of 81. A native of New Orleans, James was born April 20, 1940 to the late Roy Eugene Cruanes and Estelle Rhodes Cruanes.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Roper Cruanes; his daughters, Cherie Cruanes Bock (Jim) and Catina Cruanes Forman (Dan); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Heather, Abigail and James Bock, and Jack, Benjamin, and Charles Forman; his many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Lorene Cruanes Duzac and his brothers, Lawrence Cruanes and Robert Cruanes.
James proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from AT&T after 35 years. A long-time resident of Algiers, he was a faithful parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle church.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Passages Hospice for all the care given to James.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until Mass. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
