James E. Hassinger, Jr. born August 1st 1925 passed away suddenly on Friday evening July 24th 2015 at his home. He was the 2nd generation owner and president of Hassinger Insurance Agency, which was founded by his father in 1921. His professional career spanned over 60 years.
He was involved in many engineering and insurance organizations at local and national levels. He obtained PE and CPCU designations respectively. He was a 50 year plus member of Colonial Country Club, where he was 2 time past president.
He was a graduate of Jesuit High School and Tulane University where he obtained a B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering. He is survived by a son James E. Hassinger, III, and sister Ange Belle Hassinger.
Funeral services will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, on Saturday August 1st at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Masonic Cemetery, New Orleans.
