

James Henry Maechling, known by many as Jamie, age 60, died on January 23, 2018, in Hammond, La. A native of New Orleans who moved to the City of Kenner as a teenager. Since 2013, he had been living closer to sister’s family in Tickfaw, La.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Herman Maechling. Also grandparents, Andy J. Yeargin, Valentine B. Cheltenham Yeargin, Philip J. Maechling and Agnes Flanagan Maechling.
He is survived by his mother, Ann E. Yeargin Maechling. His four sisters, Deborah Brister (Joe) Leonora Marquez (the late Louis) Kimberley Gonzalez (Ricardo), and Dorothy Harris (the late Tony). Also his nieces and nephews, Charles and James Brister, Maria and Ricardo Gonzalez Jr, Monica O’Neal, and Melissa Harris. Along with his Uncle Earnest Maechling Sr. and Aunt Patricia Ellis and numerous cousins.
Jamie loved watching the Saints, playing his 50’s and 60’s music, going fishing, and attending Williams Blvd. Baptist Church in Kenner. He will be sadly missed by us all. He will always be remembered as being happy, laughing, smiling, and for his faith in God. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside memorial at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery at 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, Metairie La, on February 3, 2018 at noon.
