James W. Moffitt

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of over 57 years Rose Allen Moffitt; loving children Michael Allen Moffitt (Michelle Sheeren) and Joan Moffitt Anticich (Craig); brother-in-law Billy Hennen; sisters-in-law Joan Allen Carpenter (late Richard), Linda Anderson (late Edward), Sheila Hessinger, and Nancy Price (Alan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Susie Moffitt; sisters Shirley Moffitt Hennen, Alder Moffitt Alford, and Jean Moffitt Raiford.

Jimmy served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was an electrician for 52 years and was a member of the Local IBEW 130. He served with the 3rd district volunteer fire department. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and the Masons.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until service time. Interment to follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
