James R. Patin

He served in the United States Army as a cryptographer and retired as Vice-Chancellor from LSU Health Science Center. In his spare time, he enjoyed the art of photography.

James is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Devia Patin; sons Alan Patin (Beverly) and Bruce Patin (Elizabeth); stepdaughters Shanna Labranche (Michael), Deidre Rodriguez (Barry) and Siobhan Michel (Johnny); eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph Patin and Mary Kate Tarbutton Patin; son James R. (Jimmy) Patin.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, beginning at 10:30am in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00am. Interment will be private.
