Jan Baraby Tournet

Jan Patrice Baraby was born on August 14th 1959 in Lima Ohio to David Colten and Katherine Pauline Baraby. She attended school in Lima and at 18 moved to Lake Jackson, Texas with her sister. Within a year, she moved to Louisiana. On October 28th 1990 she married Bob Tournet and made her home in Kenner, LA.

Jan is survived by her husband Bob Tournet; her son Paul-Michael Hebert (Christina); step-sons Lloyd Tournet (Christie) and Eric Tournet (Jamie); grandchildren Katherine, Gabriel, Adeline and Haleigh; sisters Millie Baraby Rosser (Stephen), Betty Baraby Nicholson (Tom) and Donna Spicer Hust (Mickey); brothers Dan Baraby and Rudy Spicer (Janet) 8 nieces, 7 nephews. 3 special cousins who adored her Bob Taggi, Jean Neihaus and Lummy Peacock.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents David Colten Baraby and Katherine (Polly) Spicer; and brothers Charles (Chuck) Ray Baraby and David Alan Baraby.

Jan was a woman who left it all on the table. When she talked you listened…when she walked into the room you watched…she had a knack for loving and was a great partner in crime…. here’s hoping that Heaven had enough time to prepare for your arrival.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm. Interment will be private.
