Janet Johnson Chighizola

Janet was predeceased by her parents, Alice Gosling Johnson and Lawrence Johnson Sr. She is survived by her devoted husband, O’Neal “Buddy” Chighizola; her beloved daughters, Kim Ramagos (Lynn Ramagos Jr.) and Kristen Sentell (William Sentell III); her cherished grandchildren, Trevor Ramagos and Victoria Sentell; her siblings, Janis Johnson, Alice Mckeown, and Lawrence Johnson Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Judy Crane (Ronnie Crane). Janet also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

Janet dedicated her career to the banking industry in New Orleans, where she made lasting contributions through her hard work and professionalism. Beyond her career, she was a passionate LSU fan who found immense joy in cheering on the Tigers. One of her favorite traditions was traveling to Omaha to watch LSU compete in the College World Series—a pastime that brought her great happiness.

Janet’s warmth and enthusiasm for life touched everyone who knew her. Her memory will be treasured by all whose lives she enriched.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation and funeral service on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. The visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. The interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum, which is on the same grounds as the funeral home.
