Janet "Jane" Seidenbach Phillips, 101, passed away on the 27th of March, 2024. She was the devoted wife of the late Dr. Ben J. Phillips, daughter of Esther Adler and Louis Seidenbach; survived by daughter
Beth Phillips Weiss (Stanley) and son William L. Phillips (Grace Chris), grandchildren Erica Jane Weiss and Becci Leah Weiss, and sister Lois Seidenbach Shepard (Ralph). Mrs. Phillips attended Henry W. Allen, graduated from Isidore Newman School in 1939 and Newcomb College in 1943.
She later attended Delgado trade school. During WWII she was a draftsman at Higgins Aircraft and the Texas Oil Company. Following the war she worked at Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Co. and in later years worked at Moss Antiques. She was involved at various levels in civic organizations, including American Red Cross, Jewish Children's Regional Service, New Orleans Speech & Hearing Center, Newcomb PTA, N.O. Museum of Art, Touro Synagogue Sisterhood and congregational boards, Girl Scouts, National Council of Jewish Women, and Delgado Trade School. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00AM in Hebrew Rest Cemetery No. 2. Memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice.
