Jeanette T. Williams

In her early twenties, Jeanette moved to New Orleans, LA with her sister Lizzie Halley. She lived in various areas of the city before purchasing a home in the historic Holy Cross district of the Lower Ninth Ward. She was 82 years old.

Jeanette had eight children: Maxine Henderson, Earnestine Williams (Michael Williams), Larry Henderson, Antoinette Williams, Stanley Williams, Kim Williams (Jerome Brown), D.C. Williams (Catherine Williams), and Valerie Williams.

Jeanette loved God and served as a deaconess at Free Mission Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Jeanette loved to cook, joke around, read, listen to music, and spend time with family. She was employed at Monteleone Hotel and a supervisor at Morrison Laundry. She worked in hotel and laundry services until her retirement.

Beatrice Cooley, Lizzie Halley, Larry Henderson, Stanley Williams, and D.C. Williams preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at New Orleans Triumph Baptist Church, 840 Fats Domino Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM. Services begin at 11:00 AM.
