Jeanne Reese Couturié

Jeanne Reese Couturié passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, April 26, 2018. She was 87 years old. Beloved wife of André Delery Couturié for nearly 68 years. Loving mother of Stephen Couturié (Donna), Peter Couturié (Anna), Betsy Giaimo (Bruce), Kay Couturié, Lou Johnson (Quentin), and Meg Couturié. Grandmother to 12 and great-grandmother to 16. Sister of Aline Collins (William) and the late Mary Libby (the late Arthur). Daughter of the late Henry and Katherine Reese.

Jeanne was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a graduate of Louisiana State University. She taught Home Economics, cooking and sewing in New Jersey for more than 20 years, and was an active member of various Catholic parish organizations in both New Jersey and Louisiana. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, bingo, and board games, but mostly spending time with her family. She was well-loved and will be missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon until Mass. Interment will follow the Mass at All Saint’s Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans through their website no-hunger.org.
