It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Lalonde Gauthreaux, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and cherished member of the Harahan community. Jeanne passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 3, 1966, in Metairie, Louisiana, to Roland Lalonde and the late Diana Boudin Lalonde, Jeanne was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1984 and pursued her passion for fashion, earning her degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising. Jeanne's entrepreneurial spirit led her to become the proud owner and chef of Gauthreaux’s Gourmet Cuisine and Vice President of Due Process. She also excelled as a real estate agent, property manager, and Operations Manager at Blue Flash.
Jeanne's many talents extended beyond her professional life. A former Saintsation in the late 1980s, she remained a member of The New Orleans Saints Cheerleader Alumni (NOSCA) and was a member of the Louisiana Real Estate Commission (LREC).
Her passions were manifold. An incredible chef, Jeanne expressed her love through her food, delighting family and friends with their favorite dishes. Her artistic soul shone through in her beautiful paintings. Jeanne cherished time with her family, particularly at her favorite place, Fort Morgan Beach, Alabama, where she celebrated her marriage to David Gauthreaux on March 31, 2001. A lover of travel, Paris, France held a special place in her heart.
Jeanne leaves behind her devoted husband, David Gauthreaux; daughters, Khristen Pello (Joshua Pello) and Morgan Thompson; and sons, Brayden Thompson and Brennan Gauthreaux; grandchildren, Isabella and Juliet Pello; her father, Roland Lalonde; and a multitude of extended family who loved her: cousins, nieces, nephews, cherished co-workers and friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Passages Hospice, Ochsner Home Health, and First Name Basis, especially Anthony Christiana, LPN, Starr Atchison, RN, Patrick Faucheaux, RN, Allison Houston, LPN, and Rhonda Dickerson, for their exceptional care, compassion and love.
