Jeanne Marie Shows-Andre was called by God peacefully Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, at the age of 68. She was born Nov. 12, 1955, in New Orleans, La and resided in New Orleans until 1993 when her and her family moved to Madisonville, La. Jeanne was a well-respected Customs House Broker and loved by family and many friends. Jeanne graduated from Tulane University in Business Administration and Homeland Security. She was Licensed by The United States Department of the Treasury in 1980 as a Customs House Broker for imports and exports. She handled Customs Entries for Imports and Exports to and from the Port of New Orleans. Jeanne served as V.P. Transoceanic Shipping Company, V.P. Schenkers International Forwarders., V.P. Jackson-Kearney Group, V.P. Kearny Companies, and Broker for Silo Caffe (Folgers) New Orleans. She was President of the World Trade Club of New Orleans, 94-95, President of the International freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers Association of New Orleans, 1999. She served a term as Secretary Treasurer for the Louisiana Maritime International Chamber of Commerce. Jeanne was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and Key to the City of New Orleans in 1995 from then Mayor Marc Morial. Jeanne had a passion for flower gardening, spending many weekends with a shovel, rake and gloves on her property. She was active in the Lake Forrest Garden Club of N.O. Serving as President 93-94 and 94-95. She also loved girls’ sports and officiated girls’ volleyball and softball at Pelican Park (Mandeville) and Coquille Sports Complex (Madisonville). She was a CASA St. Tammany Youth Service Bureau volunteer case worker from 2013 to 2020. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 34 Years Brian Edmund Andre’, half-brother Henry Giles Shows Jr., Son Adrian Trappe’ Andre’, Granddaughter Arianna Andre’, Grandson Adrian Trappe’ Andre’ Jr. proceeded in death by her parents Dorothy (Dot) Trappe’ Shows, Henry Giles Shows, brothers Craig Stephen Shows, and Edmond Wade Shows. Grand Parents Edmond “Buck” Trappe’, Jeanne Gonsoulin Trappe’, Wade W. Shows, Sallie Bright Shows, Great Parents Hypolite Trappe’, Ella Hebert Trappe’. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 1:00pm. A visitation will begin at 10:00am until mass.
