She was born on March 9, 1937 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Alden Robert Toca and Beulah Toca Mackenzie.
She was a graduate of John McDonogh High School, Class of 1955. She went on to work as a receptionist at RiverLand Federal Credit Union. Jeannette was a devoted Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Jeannette enjoyed teaching Cajun dancing and spending the evenings on the front porch with her family and neighbors. She was a great role model and deeply loved her family, friends, and neighbors.
One cannot help but smile when thinking of how compassionate and empathetic Jeannette was toward anyone she came across in life. Not only was Jeannette loved by everyone who knew her, but she too had a tremendous amount of love for others. Her enthusiasm for life was inspiring to all.
As Jeannette always said, “You’re going to miss me when I’m gone!” And she was right, we just didn’t know it would be this much!
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Michael Lynch; daughters, Amy Lakin (Steve), Bonnie Moynihan (Bill), and Jennifer Aucoin (Bobby); sons, Herbert Winston, Jr. and Ernest Winston (Michelle); grandchildren, Jonathan Lakin (Drennon), Heather Johnson (Daniel), Matthew Lakin (Alexis), Katie Lakin (Chris), Kyle Moynihan, Shaun McCabe, Kristen Winston, Jessica McCabe, Morgan Aucoin, Peyton Aucoin, Griffin Winston, Elise Winston; sister, Debbie Garon (Kenny); stepdaughter, Kristin McCabe; and 14 beloved great grandchildren.
