
Jeremy Scott McGuire, born September 30, 1974, departed this life on January 24, 2016 in Miami, Florida and now lives in Heaven. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Clayton Noel Patton Sr., Sarah Margaret Mitchell Patton, Gaston Eugene McGuire, Dorothy McGinty McGuire and step-grandfather Eley Utah Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife, Azucena (Suzy) Rivera and his devoted and loving son, Patrick Finnegan McGuire. His parents, Dayonne Patton McGuire, Jimmy D. McGuire, twin sister Kelley McGuire Dair (Marvin) and Christy McGuire (Thomas Harris). His mother- and father-in-law, Napoleon and Magdy Rivera, and sisters-in-law Margarita Rivera (Bobby Mora) and Florecita Rivera (Kenny Chauvin). Nieces Zora and Eliza Harris and Julieta Rivera Chauvin. Scott is a graduate of St. John High School where he played basketball, Mississippi Gulf Coast Jr. College, University of Southern Mississippi, BS (Criminal Justice), and Tulane University, MS (Homeland Security). Scott began his career in law enforcement as an Import Specialist with U.S. Customs Service and later was a Special Agent for both U.S. Customs Service and ICE/Homeland Security Investigations. His proudest achievement during his 41 years of life was to be the father and best friend of his son, "Finn". Everyone who knew him marveled at the bond he had with his son. Even with his hectic work schedule, Scott always found time to read, play games, go for walks or bike rides with him. Always a caring and giving person, Scott was an organ and tissue donor whose gifts helped numerous people. Scott possessed a strong work ethic and earned the respect of his fellow agents. Scott did not pattern his life after anyone and created his own personality filled with laughter, honesty, integrity, loyalty, love and respect for everyone. He grew from a shy young child to an outgoing young man who excelled in college and in his family life. "Do not weep that I am gone but rejoice that I lived and touched the lives of so many in a good way." A memorial service will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
