She was born on July 9, 1929 in Mississippi to Percy Conn and Hazel Albritton Conn.
Jewel retired from William G. Helis Oil Company in New Orleans after years of dedicated service.
Jewel is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Walter J. Hammer;
their son, Charles B. "Chuck" Hammer; and her sister Helen C. Manale. She is survived
by her granddaughter Holly Hammer; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends -
especially the residents at Nouveau Marc Retirement Community in Kenner.
A private interment was held at Metairie Cemetery on Friday, December 4, 2015.
