Joan Schaeffer Ploue, age 87 years, a former resident of Bay St. Louis, MS, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at her home in Metairie, LA. Beloved wife of the late John J. Ploue, Jr. Loving mother of John J. Ploue, III (Phyllis), Diane Ploue Mustacchia (Nick, Jr.), and Cynthia Ploue Steib (Danny). Daughter of the late George L. Schaeffer and Nellie North Hughes. Step-daughter of the late Charles Hughes. Grandmother of Michelle Burris, Darlene Cullen, Nickie Mustacchia III, Darren Mustacchia, Stephen Ploue, Scarlett Dottolo, Brandon Steib, and Danielle Steib. Great grandmother of Elizabeth, Tyler, Cameron, Ali, Christian, and the late Angelle. Sister of Billy Hughes, and the late Lance Schaeffer. Also survived by friends at Metairie Manor.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 12:00pm.
