John J. Conners

John J. Conners, age 71 years, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Jefferson, LA. Mr. Conners was born on June 3, 1943 in Montgomery, AL and was a graduate of Catholic High School in Montgomery, AL and the University of Alabama in 1966. Proud father of 4 wonderful children, Stephen Conners (Kelly Troscalir), Kelly Tucker (David Tucker), Shawn Conners (Shannon Folker), and Kara Pigeon (Troy Pigeon). Loving grandfather of Daniel, Katie, and Samuel Conners, Matthew and Michael Tucker, Cassie, Evan, and Jon Michael Conners, and Edwin and Vivianne Pigeon. Brother of Kathy Bohr (Steve Bohr). Mr. Conners worked in human resources throughout his career, 30 yrs. with Sears and Roebuck, 5 yrs. with Harrah’s Casino and 3 yrs. with K&B Services. He served as an Honorary Colonel for the State of Louisiana under Gov. David Treen, Chair and Member of advisory board for Xavier University of LA for 25 years, a member of advisory board for Christopher Homes, Inc. for 29 yrs. and as an advisory capacity to the LA Dept. of Labor for 20 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Interment will be held privately at a later date in Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 in New Orleans, LA.
