John Gary Hauser

Gary, as he was known to everyone, was born February 21, 1936 in New Orleans, LA to William and Josephine Hauser. He graduated from Fortier and Tulane, then went on to work for and then run his family’s printing business, Hauser Printing. Gary was an avid sports fan, playing both golf and tennis. His Sundays were spent at church at Mater Dolorosa and then watching the Saints play.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Joyce Baab Hauser; his parents, William and Josephine Hauser; his sister, Helen Hauser Wisdom; and his son, William “Bill” Hauser.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Gomes (Darrell); grandchildren, Ashley Hauser (Robert Mirsberger), Steven Hauser (Ashley Gaitan), and Dylan Hauser; great-grandchildren, Aubree and Autumn Mirsberger and Alayna Hauser; and his nephews, Arthur, Andy, and Matt Wisdom.

The family would like to give a special thank you to his caregiver, Christopher Glorioso.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral arrangements on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain in New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until his graveside service at 1:00 PM on the same grounds at Metairie Cemetery.
