John Robert Latham

He is preceded in death by his parents Edith Carnes Cannon and Johnny Latham; sister Lillian Sullivan and brother Herman Ray Latham.

John is survived by his half-sister Emma Underwood and half-brother Frank Sullivan as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his lifelong companion Josie Doskey and her family.

John served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked at Red Star Yeast Co. for 27 years and Dixie Brewing until his retirement. John started his own lawn care business, which he ran until he was 78. John loved the beauty of nature and being outdoors with his lawn and flowers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
