John Louis Lopez Jr.

John Louis Lopez, Jr. died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Saturday, June 18, 2016. Age 84 years. Son of the late Evelyn Dorr and John Louis Lopez. Once married to the late Alice Tooley Lopez. Father of Pamela L. Richardson (James), Lori L. Hahn (Michael) and Linda M. Lopez (Stu Foley). Grandfather of Michelle H. Massey (Joe Bob), Natalie L. Hahn, John Carter Amlingmeyer and Hart J. Amlingmeyer. Step grandfather of James L. Richardson (Mandy) and Emily L. Richardson. Step great grandfather of James B. Richardson and Ryan H. Richardson.

John was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School (now Brother Martin) and received a BS in Geology at Tulane University in 1951. He served in the US Army, was a member of the American Legion and a lifelong resident of Lakeview and lifelong member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. Mr. Lopez was a New Orleans business man who owned several of his own companies, such as Johnny Lopez Studios and Lopez Chemical, Inc. He enjoyed dancing at the Jefferson Orleans and spending time at his vacation home in Bay St. Louis with his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
