Jordan Raymond Smith passed away on March 7, 2022 at the age of 34. He was born in New Orleans on December 14, 1987 to Sheryl Lee Smith. He attended St Francis Xavier for grade school and went on to graduate from Brother Martin High School. He then earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Tulane University where he joined the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Jordan worked as a vessel broker with Nexo Shipbroking. Jordan had a keen interest in cigars and sports- he was an avid golfer and a fan of UFC, Chelsea Football Club, and loved hunting with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Kelsey Ann McCloskey Smith; mother, Sheryl Lee Smith McClendon; stepfather, Joseph McClendon; aunt, Jeannie Lagarde; father-in-law, Michael Joseph McCloskey; mother-in-law, Connie Valenti McCloskey; his beloved cats, Eleanor and Theodore; and many other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Smith Staples.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Funeral Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 12 PM. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. A graveside service will follow the chapel service in All Saints Mausoleum.
