Jorge Gervasio Migenes

Jorge Gervasio Migenes passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on December 30, 2016 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Nereyda Almeida Migenes for 58 years. Loving father of Maria Migenes Melendreras (Eduardo) and Jorge Migenes. Son of the late Benito Migenes and Dulce Maria Dominguez. Survived by five grandchildren, Christina Melendreras Moises (Christopher), Sean Melendreras, Alec Melendreras, Alyssa Migenes, and Kristyn Migenes.

Jorge was a native of Matanzas, Cuba where he was employed as an accountant for a Sugar Refinery Company. He came to the US in 1966. Jorge was a foreman for NOLA Candle Company and co-owner of Personal Touch by Nere, an interior decorating company. He was a retired, quiet, hardworking, kind and loving person. Jorge enjoyed all types of music, he enjoyed working with his hands, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the “Club Cubano de Profesionales” and a parishioner of St. Ann Church. Jorge never missed a family event. He will be forever loved and greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visitation and Eulogy on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10:00 am. Mass will follow at 10:45 am at St. Ann Church and Shrine, Metairie. Interment following at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
