Joseph "Joe" Everett Fick, Jr., age 66, passed away at his home in Metairie on February 9, 2019. A New Orleans native, Joe was born on June 19, 1952 to the late Joseph E. Fick, Sr. and Doris Christensen Fick.
As a devoted family man, he is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cynthia Tessero Fick; his sons, Brandon Fick (Susan) and Jeff Fick (Liz); his grandchildren, Ethan, Josie, Everett, Carter, James and Charlie Fick; his sister, Mary Lynn Fick; brother, John Fick (Ana); his nephew, Jason Fick (Chandin); his niece Jessica Fick; and his dog, Lexie.
A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Joe graduated from Brother Martin High School, Class of '70, the University of New Orleans, Class of '74, and Loyola Law School, Class of '77. He practiced law for over 40 years at Newman, Mathis, Brady & Spedale Law Firm in Metairie.
Joe was an avid Saints fan, a connoisseur of New Orleans restaurants, and he enjoyed traveling. He was a loving friend to every person he ever met, and his love for his grandchildren is immeasurable.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Joe's life, held in the Chapel at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Roch No. 1 Cemetery in New Orleans, LA.
