Joseph Charles Milano

Joseph Charles Milano, 67, entered eternal life surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Joe was a current resident of Jefferson. Growing up in Harahan, he attended St. Rita School and graduated from East Jefferson High School. Waiting to receive him in heaven were his parents, Leon P. and Vivian W. Milano along with his sister Joann M. Scheuermann, sister-in-law Gwendlyn Milano, and brother-in-law Cosmo (CJ) Teresi. Joseph will be remembered by his devoted wife of 43 years, Barbara DeCourt Milano as well as his two loving children, Amy M. Aldana with husband Luis and Andrew J. Milano. The light of his eyes were his three grandsons, Luis and Alexander Aldana, and Kayden Milano. He is also survived by his sister, Carmen Teresi, and his brothers, Leon Milano, Steven with wife Rosa Milano and brother-in-law Wayne Scheuermann. He leaves behind a large extended family of nieces and nephews whom he treasured. Joe was a salesperson with Bent Marine and a previous long time employee of Lee Tractor Co. Rebuilding small motors, cars, and fixing things were his hobbies but his passion was fishing. To know him was to love him and he will be truly missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM.
