Joseph William Parrino, Jr. passed away on Good Friday, April 10, 2020, at the age of 44. He attended and was a football player for Metairie Park Country Day School. A graduate of the University of Alabama, where he pledged Kappa Sigma, Joseph went on to receive his MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of New Orleans. He worked in the healthcare field and ladies retail.
Joseph is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bessie Copponex Parrino, Anthony Dominic Parrino, Cecile Taylor and Conroy F. Owens; as well as his aunt and godmother, JoAnn Parrino. He is survived by his beloved wife of ten years, Stephanie Herrera Parrino; his father, Joseph W. Parrino, Sr.; his mother and stepfather, Yvonne and James Walsh; and his siblings: Elizabeth Lambert and husband Dennis, Mary Jane Walsh, James Patrick Walsh, Ryan Murphy Walsh, John Charles Walsh and William Burke Walsh. He is also survived by his nieces, Elizabeth Lillian Lambert and Mary Grace Lambert; his mother-in-law Debbie L. Herrera; and brother-in-law Martin A. Herrera. Joseph will be especially missed by his loyal sidekick and ‘son’, Fonzarelli.
Joseph was a wonderful husband, a great son and a loving big brother with a great sense of humor. He touched the lives of many friends, and we will all forever cherish our memories of him.
While we welcome all that would like to attend, due to COVID there is a limit of only 75 attendees. Our family is grateful for your understanding and compassion. All guests must wear masks.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December, 28, 2020 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 1230 South Carrollton in New Orleans. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
