Josephine Talamo Faulkner passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the age of 84. She was a native of New Orleans, LA. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and was a bookkeeper for 30 years. Josie was a faithful member of St. Angela Merici Church, celebrating mass there daily. She enjoyed listening to live music, attending the theater, doing water aerobics, and going for coffee with friends. She was a voracious reader and lifelong learner, attending weekly seminars at the public library. She also had an adventurous spirit, taking road trips across the country and flying lessons in her youth. Josie was smart and funny, brave and so very strong. Her life was guided by her love of God and her commitment to her family. Her sisters were an extension of herself; her children were her heart; and her grandchildren were her light. Josie is survived by her daughters, Stacy Faulkner Waldvogel (John) and Robin Faulkner Dempsey (Ben); her grandchildren, Adam, Tess and Hayden Waldvogel and Jack and Lily Dempsey; sisters, Carmela Talamo Ramos and Mary Ann Talamo Kincaid. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Gordy Theodore Faulkner; parents, Russell Joseph Talamo and Angelina Accardo Talamo; and brother, Joseph Raymond Talamo. The family would like to give special thanks to the care managers and staff at Sunrise Assisted Living and Anvoi Hospice for their endless compassionate and loving care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until the mass begins at 3:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. The family invites you to share condolences online at www.lakelawnmetairie.com. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org) would be appreciated.
