Josephine M. Martinez

Josephine loved spending time with her family, especially around the holidays, preparing the perfect holiday feast alongside her husband, Gerald. She also loved spending time in her garden and yard. Josephine was retired, working as a nurse’s aide for 15 years and at Subway Sandwiches and Salads for 38 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gerald J. Martinez; son, Gerald Martinez, Jr.; parents, Jack and Henrietta Clements; and brother, Frances Clements.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Burns; son, Eric Martinez (Katie); grandchildren, Morgan Keller (Zachary), Paige Burns, Elle Martinez, Justin Martinez, and Miles Martinez; and great-grandchildren, Josephine Keller and Elijah Keller.

The family would like to give special thanks to Nancy Bussiereth, Vitas Healthcare, and The Summit of Winter Garden.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the memorial mass at 12:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. The interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum, which is on the same grounds as the funeral home.
