Joy Rose Williams

Joy Rose Williams passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the age of 89. Affectionately known to everyone as Mimi, she attended LSU. She married Donald Dee Williams and became a mom to five children, staying home to care for her family. She was a long-time resident of Metairie and a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome. Her favorite thing to do was attend weekly and daily masses as well as the adoration chapel. Joy is the beloved daughter of the late Louis Phil and Rose Gardner. She is predeceased in death by her son Keith Williams and her sister Jean Russo. She is survived by her children, Scott (Bach), Guy (Denise), Maryann (Frank) and Brett (Stacy). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren (Chris, Eric, Alison, Ryan, Audrey, Elena, Harrison, Jordan, Jeffrey, Jack and Reesi) and four great-grandchildren (Celeste, Blaise, Maria, and Michael).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday, December 23, 2021, beginning at 10:00 am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am at St. Clement of Rome. Graveside services will follow at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. In lieu of flowers, prayers and Masses preferred.
