Joyce Porretto Bauer

Joyce Porretto Bauer passed away on May 11, 2014 at the age of 87. Wife of 58 years to the late Rudolph Bauer. Mother of Rudolph Bauer (Sharon), Randolph Bauer, Craig Bauer (Betsy), Keith Bauer (Judy), Mary Bacon (Bill) and Donna Ralidis (Philip). Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great grand children. Daughter of the late Mitchell “Moon” Porretto and Rosetta Breland Porretto. Dear friends, Tracy, Bryan, Caroline and Will Frentz. She was a Suma Cum Laude graduate of Our Lady of Holy Cross College, graduate of Loyola University with a Masters degree in mathematics. She was a lifetime member of the National Blue Key Honor Society, Sigma Nu, and a member of the Third Order of Mary. She was a dedicated teacher at the following schools; St. Lawrence the Martyr, St. Joan of Arc, Holy Angels Academy, Our Lady of the River, Ecole Classique, St,. Gabriel School in Austin, TX and finished her career at the age of 80 at an adjunct professor of mathematics at Austin Community College.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 12:00 PM.
