Joyce Mary Sentilles Bourg

Joyce Mary Sentilles Bourg joined her heavenly Father on Thursday, February 11, 2016. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be missed greatly. She attended St. Rita of Cascia Church and helped in the Altar Society there. Joyce was President of the Mothers’ Club for St. Rita School. Later she served as Captain for the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Joyce is predeceased by her parents Irwin F. Sentilles and Dorothy A. Sentilles and her husband of 62 years Alton L. (Jocko) Bourg, Sr. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children: Veronica B. Thomas (Wayne), Richard I. Bourg (Kathy), Shelley B. Trahan, Carmen B. Riedlinger (Brian), Alton L. Bourg II, Dorothy B. Carson (Craig), Thomas J. Bourg, Walter P. Bourg (Peggy) and Michael S. Bourg (Flossie). Joyce was called “Naanie” by her 26 grandchildren and 35 great- grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Jacqueline S. Lochbaum and Winona S. Mayo and sister-in-law Barbara R. Sentilles and predeceased by siblings Dorothy S. Eanes, Irwin F. Sentilles II, Seth S. Sentilles, and Saar J. Sentilles. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rita of Cascia Church on Jefferson Hwy. in Harahan, LA on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 12:30PM, celebrated by Bishop Robert Muench. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00AM for family and 10:30AM for friends. Burial will be at the All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
