Joyce Cornish Joshua transitioned to eternal rest peacefully in Downey, California on April 9, 2021 at the age of 86. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Joyce (Joyce Juanita Cornish) was born October 18, 1934 to the late Rose Jamison Cornish and Frank Cornish, Sr.
Joyce attended and graduated from Joseph S. Clark High School. She then met and married her husband of 53 years, the late Roynell Joshua, Sr. on June 26, 1954. To this union, Joyce and Roynell were devoted to and loving parents of six children.
Joyce studied social work at Delgado Community College. Joyce was also a sales associate for 16 years with world-famous Krause Department Store on Basin Street in New Orleans. Joyce was a great Creole and American cook, had a wonderful sense of humor, was kind and open to people from all walks of life, and above all, loved her family dearly. Joyce was an extraordinary person that will be sorely missed.
