Joyce Slavich Lacour

Joyce Slavich Lacour passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11:03 a.m. at the age of 89. She was born on November 8, 1931 to the late Luke Louis Slavich and Irma Goertz. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and resided in Raceland.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband of ___ years, Bernard Anthony Lacour. She is survived by their loving daughter, Cheryl Lacour Richardson; grandson, Justin Lee Richardson and fiancé Megan Messmer; and great-granddaughters, Aubree Grace Richardson and Cali Nicole Messmer. Joyce is also survived Skipper, her Shih Tzu dog that she loved so much.

Joyce enjoyed gardening, but spending time with her family is what made her happiest.

The family would like to send their sincere gratitude to all of the staff, nurses and CNA’s at The Broadway Nursing Home in Lockport, Louisiana, as well as to Notre Dame Hospice.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m.
